Welcome to the St. Paul Quilters web page. My name is Ruth Gusko. I have been a member here at St. Paul since the 1980’s. I was raised, Baptized, and Confirmed Lutheran. Sewing was part of my up bring, my mother made sure my sister and I could sew. I would do sewing for 4-H projects, and I sewed dresses for myself and my daughter until she was too picky (it was not cool to wear homemade clothes). I continue today by mending, altering, and shortening many articles of clothing for family members.
Quilting on Tuesday mornings is my social outing of the week. I truly enjoy making quilt tops from strips of material (3 inches by any lengths). Each quilt top I make always turns out to be my favorite. The girls in our St. Paul Quilters group put together some amazing and beautiful quilts which go to local charities, Tuscola County fire victims, Lutheran World Relief, and the Grain Train in Sebewaing.
The St. Paul Quilters meet every Tuesday morning at 8:30 am until 12:00 pm. Anyone is welcome to help (no sewing experience necessary) we can use all the help we can get.
God bless and keep you.
