Operation Christmas Child
Millions of children all over the world benefit from the huge Servant Event, Operation Christmas Child. David and Diana Mattlin have been heading it up in our area for a long time. It is exhausting, yearlong work, but they have many helpers to try to help with the workload. Below is 2 days of the hard work involved in getting shoeboxes out to kids around the world. Saturday, October 29 was set up for the Packing Party, and Sunday, October 30 was the day most of the shoeboxes got packed. Diana says “Operation Christmas Child is definitely a cooperative effort. We have many people with specific talents who use their skills to make wonderful items to pack in our shoeboxes.”
The Saturday Crew that hauled MANY, MANY boxes from Dave & Diana’s house to the church and got them all sorted and ready for the Packing Party on Sunday. Doug & Doris DeRocco, Tim & Becki Bates, Liz Zuercher, Dave Mattlin, and Linda Bitzer. (Diana Mattlin was there too! - someone had to take the picture)
