Hola!

I finally have time to breath, so I'm doing a much needed blog update! Please understand that there just has been no time up till now...

The heat has just been merciless on us. Four of the sites are roofing sites so we were literally being baked in the afternoons. We'd have great mornings and then in the afternoon we'd be sending people down because they weren't feeling well. Even Dennis, and if you know Dennis that just doesn't happen. We've been drinking water like it's going out of style. It seems like you would drink a bottle of water and then it would pour right out of your pores.

So today we did a first at Fixin' Up The Thumb. We drastically rethought the schedule and made it a Mexico schedule. We got up an hour earlier (we've done that before) and worked till noon. At noon we came back to church, had a massive water gun/balloon/kiddie pool/slip n' slide blowout which served as a great impromptu shower from the mornings work. After having cooled off we all headed to our bunks for an hour ciesta. Some read, but most zonked right out and are still sleeping (hence why I have time to write this blog). We're about to do Bible study, then we'll have dinner and head back to the work sites for three hours.

The work has progressed well, but it has been hard physical work this year. The handicapped ramp is almost done (we actually pulled that crew today to help out on a roof, otherwise it would be done). One roof will finish tonight, and the other three roofs will take the full week.

Tomorrow's weather doesn't look good so we're talking about modifying that day as well. It looks like Splash Village in Frankenmuth in the morning and then Bible study in the afternoon, and another evening workday.

WNEM news did a fantastic report on the Servant Event on Monday night. It was fantastic!

All in all we've had an excellent week so far. Continue to pray for us. I'll do my best to get some of our fantastic pictures up here, if I can find the time!!!
