Warm In and Out

It was warm this past Saturday. As a matter of fact, I worked part of the day in just a t-shirt. I haven't done that on the building in a long while. It was warm for two reasons: the weather was wonderful, and our furnace was running! We still need to tie up a few loose ends on the ductwork, but nothing to keep the furnace from running.

That being the case, we did shift projects and worked on doors, base trim, and brick.

There is at least one more Saturday of this type work, but when this phase is done we will be one step closer to finishing the addition. If you can join us this next Saturday, we would love to see you there!

Like Some Kind of Strange Dance

You take two steps forward, then one step back, and in the end you end up taking three steps forward.

I have left the quack, quack theme behind, but we still continued to work on duct work. That and the gas line.

We are extremely close to finishing the ductwork, and that is a good thing because I don't think we could get much more in that mechanical room!

Next Saturday we are planning on shifting projects and will work on doors, base trim, window trim, and the like. The following Saturday we are hoping to be working on drop ceiling grid.

Calling In Reinforcements

I will not say that the old people are wearing out, because they are still doing a great job, but this week we got a boost from several youth who were in the process of doing the 30 hour famine.

Now that the walls are painted green in the classroom we were able to move on to working on the ceiling grid, base trim, and trim around the doors and windows. Here are some shots of them working on those:

The adults pretty much focused on the ductwork some more. The furnace stystem is approaching completion.

The classrooms will get a second coat of green paint, and the entryway will be painted yellow this week. Tile and carpet are being picked out and it will not be long till we see those being installed.

It is good to see it all coming together, and we thank our special crew this week for their help!

Quack, Quack, Quack

I just realized that I should have titled last weeks post just simply "Quack," and then this weeks could have been "Quack, Quack." Next week could then be three "Quacks." But, alas, I was not that witty.

Then some of you are wondering what is up with all of these quacks. It is because of all of this duct work! Okay, enough with the bad puns and on to some pictures.

We have ducts running on top of one another, a "pair of pants," 7" rounds, ducts going through walls, and ducts for both hot and cold air. It really is neat to see all of the ducts coming together and going where they are supposed to...which is to our permanently placed furnace!

Archie continues to finish up the drywall and tonight Sunday School Support Team will be picking out the final color. As soon as we get these walls painted we will start installing electrical outlets, trimming out the windows, installing drop ceiling tracks, and several other "finishing" projects. First we need to get this duct work done, but it is exciting to see these other projects on the horizon.
