The Drywall Is Done...Well, Almost.

Except for two pieces of drywall (one behind the electrical panel and one on the brick in the downstairs stairwell), the drywall is done.

With the crew we had on Saturday there was drywall flying on the walls!

It really is starting to look like something now!

It's Drywall Time...Still!

There was a smaller crew here on Saturday, but they were still able to get a fair amout of drywall hung. All the ceilings are done, including the one over the staircase (requiring special scaffolding).

Archie Ferguson has been mudding about as fast as we can get it hung.

I almost hate to make estimates, but I would say two more good days and we will have the drywall all hung. But, don't hold me to that. We'll see how big of a crew we have, and how the work goes.

It's Drywall Time!

This was another big week on our Sunday School addition. All of our rough in inspections passed.

The spray foam insulator showed up on Thursday and sprayed the walls with an air-tight insulation.

Friday the drywall showed up.

And Saturday we started hanging drywall!

We will continue with the drywall next Saturday.

Odds and Ends

With the weather that we have had, the outside of our building has come a long way! The brick on the outside is about 85% done! A huge thanks goes out to: Bob Terbush, Doug Rieck, and Tim Timco for heading up that project and donating their skilled labor.

In order to drill two holes that had to come through to the outside, we also have some vinyl siding done on one wall. The brick and siding look good together.

Inside has been progressing as well. Everything we are doing is to get these little pink slips from the inspectors and so we can insulate.

Here are some pictures of what we've been doing on the inside.
Finishing the framing.

Heating ducts.

Plumbing.

The spray foam insulator is scheduled to insulate the walls on Wednesday, and we are hoping to hang the drywall ceiling on Saturday. A larger crew would be helpful for this, so if you can help on Saturday, we'd love to see you. We'll start at 8:00.

A Little Bit About Money

I have been reminded that I haven't updated this blog in a couple of weeks. First off, I'm glad that there are faithful readers out there who are anxious to read about what is happening here at St. Paul. Second, my excuses: I took a week of vacation and with the holidays I have just not had time. I promise that I will give you a full update on the Sunday School building on Monday. That will allow us a workday on Saturday, and for me to get some new pictures.

The good news that I want to pass along today is this: I was just told that during the month of December we had people donate $4717 towards the Sunday School addition. That is a tremendous outpouring! Thank You!

The second thing about money is this: the Youth Ministry will be printing a NEW cookbook as a fundraiser. We are looking for your recipes. A recipe form is below, or available from the church office, for every recipe you would like to submit. Please submit them by the end of January. Thank You! We expect that we will be able to keep the cookbook to $10 like the old one, and that it will be available in late spring/early summer.

The third thing is not about money, but rather to encourage you to join us this Sunday for Bible classes, as we start new classes. Pastor will be teaching the Adult Information Class for anyone who would like to brush up on their Lutheran doctrine, or join our church. I will be teaching The Message Behind the Music: Do you have a favorite hymn or Contemporary song? In this Bible study we will examine a different hymn or song each week and dig deeper than just the lyrics. Together we’ll find the Biblical under girding for that song and the spiritual truth that applies to our lives. I hope to see you on Sunday at 9:45.
