Sunday School Addition Update

Yesterday we received the detailed plans back from the architect. Everything looks in order, and we are excited to once again move ahead on this project.

The standing motion passed by Voters' Assembly stated: “commit to building the proposed Sunday School Addition using the Internal Design Build Option which would entail: Have prints drawn; have prints sealed; use extra money already pledged/donated towards building; encourage members to donate labor and additional funds; and secure loan from Church Extension Fund to complete project.” and “loan be secured only after 50% of the $109,200.00 be raised by in-kind and/or cash donations.”

So, accordingly we now need to have another Voters' Assembly to secure the needed additional funds for this project. That meeting will be August 20th at 9:45 AM.

So far we have $35,000 cash that has been raised to date, and from these plans we will be able to determine the total material costs for the project. Below are some of the drawings, however if you would like to see a model of the proposed addition, or to look at the plans themselves just stop in the church office.

Bear of a Time at VBS

That's right, we had a bear show up to our VBS yesterday!

While simply trying to alleviate some of the odors from a damp and musty tent with some berry air freshener a bear came right into our closing! We gave the bear the air freshener, which he seemed to enjoy, and then he left.

The kids just loved it! (I am sure glad the Thompson's didn't sell that bear suit at a garage sale!)

Between crafts, music, lesson, mission updates, games, and lots of time with friends...

VBS is going very well up here on the Artic Edge!

Prelude!

This is the week before VBS and some amazing things are taking shape here at church. Here's a few sneak peaks.

All those milk jugs...

Have turned into this.

This huge piece of white fabric...

Has turned into this.

And this.

All of this thanks to our willing volunteers!

If your kids aren't signed up yet, you can still pre-register this week here at church (673-4214).

VBS itself is July 24-28 from 9:15-11:45. We'll see you here on the Arctic Edge!

Thank You from the Calery's

I received two different thank yous from the Calery's and thought I would pass them along for all of the Servants who helped out!

The first is from Lori and says:

Thank you so much for all of your hard work on our roof. It looks wonderful. We really appreciate you taking a week out of your summer to work on the projects. That one week out of your life made a lifetime of difference in ours."

The second was done by Chelsea and Lindy:

Thank you for fixing our roof, it looks good. We really appreciate it because it wasn't doing so good and it wasn't the prettiest roof. But now it's perfect. You all did a wonderful job. Now that the work is all done you can take a break and have fun and help other people who need it!

I think that's good advice. Our servant work is not done, it has just moved onto a new location.

I just wanted to add to the thank you from the Calery's. This project was not only a blessing to Lori and the girls but to Larry and I, as Lori's parents. We really appreciate all the work and prays shared during this time. Now we can move on to plans for other improvements that will make it easier for Lindy to get around in the house. By this group doing this project, we can focus on the others. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I can only repeat over and over God Bless you all.
